Sony A6000 gets the Gold Award at Dpreview.

Dpreview (Click here) posted the fulL A6000 review and writes:

The a6000 is a really solid camera and is better than its predecessor in almost every respect – anyone worried about Sony cutting corners to hit a lower price point should be reassured that it has done so intelligently. The result is a really capable camera, offering impressive image quality in both Raw and JPEG modes, plus class-leading video features. That it then does so in a small, convenient, well featured and competitively priced package is what really seals the deal for us. It’s strong in all areas and outstanding in some.

The camera therefore earned the Gold Award with a score of 80%.

(FT2) Super compact Full Frame E-mount to be anounced at Photokina.

Keep your feet and hopes on ground. This one comes form a new anonymous source so take it with a grain of salt. The sources said Sony will launch one new Full Frame E-mount camera at Photokina. And it will not be an A9 or other A7 series camera. It will be a Full Frame NEX-5 alike camera with no built-in EVF and priced very low (close to $1,000). The interesting thing of such a news is that this would be the cheapest Full Frame camera ever released and at $1,000 ( or little above) it would start to compete and eventually eat up the APS-C market share. And it would be the tiniest FF camera ever made too!

Until now trusted sources didn’t tell me about such a camera but we know that Sony patented such a camera design last year (article here).

Sigma says they have no plan to make FE lenses yet (but it could change in future).

Image of one of their current APS-C 19mm E-mount lens.

Plenty of A7 camera owners hope to see Sigma make a proper E-mount version of the superb 50mm A-mount lens you can preorder Amazon (Click here), BHphoto (Click here), Adorama (Click here), WexUK (Click here) and WexDe (Click here). But I have some bad news:

A SAR reader contacted Paul Pizzano (Manager from Sigma) and he told him that there is not plan to make Full Frame E-mount lenses yet:

“Maybe one day but it would take a much larger commitment on the part of Sony. A full Line of cameras and lenses with the FE mount, as well as the conversion of their NEX line to the FE mount. At the moment it is a very limited line and we are unable to invest in it when the parent company Sony seems reluctant to do so.”

IN short, Sigma will wait to see if the Full Frame E-mount will become popular or not…
