One year after the announcement the really superb Sigma 50mm f/1.4 ART lens is now in Stock in USA via Amazon (Click here), BHphoto (Click here) and CameraLand (Click here).

The lens is an absolute bargain if you consider it’s a hari close to the Zeiss Outs which costs 4 times as much. Read the reviews at Photozone, CameraLabs or DxOmark.

What you see her eon top is the prototype of a new 21mm f/2.8 Full Frame E-mount lens developed by Zhongyi. That is the company that already makes the following Sony products:

The 50mm f/0.95 FE lens (here on eBay).

The 35mm f/0.95 E-mount APS-C lens (here on eBay).

The Speedbooster clone, Turbo adapter (here on eBay).

A Zhongyi company responsible wrote on Xitek. that this FE21/F2.8 lens is optimized to be used on the A7r. It means that unlike so many other wide angle lenses it has no magenta shift issue. Those are the lens specs:

weight is 290 gram

Price is 1900 Yuan (around 300 dollars)

New Voigtländer Heliar 40mm f/2.8 E-mount lens tested.

The most curious new E-mount lens got tested at DSLRmagazine (google translation here). It’s actually an M-mount lens designed specifically to be used on E-mount cameras with the VM-E close focus adapter. The reviewer findings are:

– Center resolution is very high

– Corner resolution is only “sufficient”

– It has surprisingly little chromatic aberrations

– The lens value is not the performance it delivers but the unique kind of image quality and small size.

There are some image samples posted on that DSLRmagazine page. And DC.Fever also tested the same lens on the new A7II.

First price for the Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 lens?

The Dutch Store DeWinkel (found via DL) listed the first price info for the new Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 lens. The US price still has not been unveiled at BHphoto (it’s listed with no preorder option). If the price info from the Dutch Store is real that’s quite cheaper than the 2.089 Euro you have to pay for the 16-35mm Zeiss A-mount lens at Sony Germany.
