Debunking a rumor. That Sony camera code is not for a new FE camera.

I have to write this post to debunk a rumor running on the web. Sony registered a new camera in Indonesia. The name is hidden behind the code “WW808162“. Unlike the rumors this isn’t a new FE camera code but the code used for the Kw1 smartphone selfie camera. Just search on the official the Kw1 manual for the code and you will see it’s used for the cam.

The next four FE lenses that will hit the market in early 2015 have been displayed at the Sony Photokina booth. And this is now all we know about the lens details:

Zeiss 35mm f/1.4:

Has no OSS (but you really don’t need that on fast wide angle lenses)

Has finally an perture ring with 1/3 stop markings

likely also a clickless option (to select on lens)

It’s a big but not to big lens. Get the Loxia 35mm f/2.0 if you want something compact.
