When a FAKE becomes so strong that it’s hard to make it go away.

fake-amount

I want to make it 100% clear again that the A-mount strategy image posted by a commenter on SAR is 100% FAKE. And when I say 100% I mean I have proof and know for certain without any single doubt that it’s fake. I tracked back the author of the comment and he has a long history of publishing false information for fun on SAR comment system. So there is no doubt he made it up to create some buzz.

While I quickly removed the image from the comment system other sites like Petapixel, Photorumors, Dyxum, Cameraegg and so on picked up that image from the comment system without to question the validity of the “leak” taken from an anonymous(!) comment. I want to stress again that I did NOT(!) post the image as a valid “rumor” inside my own article. I contacted those sites and asked them to remove or mark the image as fake.

The issue still is that the image spread all over the web. And as I learned from my class in mass communication once an information has been spread out and magnified it becomes truth for many even if you try to dismantle it.

I ask all SAR readers who see the image posted on other sites and forums to make it clear this is a fake. If you want link back to this post if someone is interest to read the story of that fake image.

To all A-mount owners:

Sony will launch new A-mount lenses and cameras in future. I am 100% sure of that :)

Very important Wikileaks update info! Roadmap is 100% true. A-mount document image is 100% fake.

Share

In the comment system of SAR someone made a bit of fun and posted a FAKE image of an FAKE Sony document saying that A-mount would be discontinued in July. I want to stress that there is no such document on Wikileaks. This has been made up by that commenter! Dear A-mount followers don’t worry. That was really a bad joke by an anonymous poster :)

Some of you said, well, why on the contrary the roadmap should be true. Because it can be found as an attachment on that mail of Wikileas-Sony: http://ift.tt/1yE83HC. So this is 100% real :)

Please spread that info on forums and other sites. I saw that plenty of people picked up the news!

Note for Sony: I hope Sony don’t mind me linking to the wikileaks document but I thought it would help you in that case to prove that there is no such document saying A-mount is going to fade out.

If I am not mistaken this is the very first (or one of the first) Drone videos shoot at moonlight. And of course the author used the Sony A7s to make the video. Such kind of videos would be impossible to make if there wouldn’t be the A7s on this world :)

How To share rumors about the soon to be announced new cameras! And rumor recap for readers.

Share

It’s big rumor time and some of you reading the website may have “heard” some info they would like to share. There are two ways you can do it anonymously:

1) Use the “orange” contact form button you see on the right top of this site. You can avoid to share any info like name or email address and no IP info gets stored. If you like to become a “trusted” source just share a nickname so that I can recognize you in future. And if your rumor will become true I will know how to rank the rumors in future (SR1 til SR5).

2) You can send me an email directly at sonyalpharumors@gmail.com. You can create a fake gmail account to write me. And I usually delete those emails after a couple of days just to keep a clean record.

Here is the contact form embedded for this occasion in this post:

[contact-form-7]

And for SAR readers this is the rumor recap so far:

SR5: New camera announcement on April 23

SR4: New E-mount camera announcement will follow in May

SR4: Either A-mount or/and RX announcement on April 23

SR4: A6000 successor is coming

SR4: RX100m4 with Four Thirds sensor

SR4: A7rII is in production

SR3: High Megapixel A-mount camera in development

SR5: Definitely a PRO E-mount camera in the works (release date unclear)
