Everything you need to know about the new RX10m2.
The new RX10m2 uses the same 1inch stacked sensor as the RX100m4. This means slow motion capability, resolution, 1/32.000 shutter speed and 4K capability are the same. See the full RX100m4 SAR report if you want to know more about those features. So let’s just see the differences between the RX10m2 and RX100m4:
The RX10mw uses a 24-200mm f/2.8 Zeiss lens (same as previous RX10).
AF performance of the RX10 II reaches speeds as fast as 0.09 second9. To help you capture momentary shutter opportunities without fail, the adaptable lens also provides the rapid, reliable Direct Drive Super Sonicwave Motor (SSM) for smooth and highly precise focus driving that works together with Fast Intelligent AF.
The RX10m2 records up to 14fps compared to the 16fps of the RX100m4.

A great Sony A7rII introduction from Tony Northup.
Our friend Tony Northup made a very simple introduction video to the new A7rII based on the information he gathered online. Unlike the Canon 5Ds 50MP camera which is just a normal 5DmarkII cam on steroids the new A7rII packs a lot of innovations! Tony explains them all and the A7rII seems to be not only a good A7r successor but also adds features missed on the A7s (like internal 4K and good phase detection AF system). Sony did indeed listen to the customers feedback and fixed most of the stuff that did not work well or that were missing. I can’t wait to see how the A7sII will be
My only major Drawback of the A7rII is the quite high price
One more thing: One of the very few differences with the A7II is the lock mode on the dial:

Is the A7rII the first proper A-mount lens compatible camera? (A7rII also gets after the Canon user)
The new Sony A7rII autofocusing system marks a new high standard for third party and A-mount lens support:
Dpreview writes:
PDAF will work even with third-party lenses via existing adapters, including in continuous AF tracking mode. This is potentially a huge deal – especially for Canon users. We’ve used an a7R II with a Canon 24-70mm lens and a Metabones adapter, and focus is indeed very fast indeed. We’ll be looking at this in more depth as soon as we have a production sample camera, but for now, we’re highly impressed.
Sony correctly recognized that they need to add high quality autofocus support for Canon lenses if they want to gain Canon customers!
Sony press text says:
Additionally, the focal plane phase-detection AF system on the α7R II works well with Sony A-mount lenses when they are mounted on the camera using an LA-EA3 or LA-EA1 mount adapter. This allows users to enjoy the wide AF coverage of 399 focal plane phase-detection AF points, high-speed response and high tracking performance with a wider range of lenses. This marks the first time that the AF system of a mirrorless camera can achieve high performance with lenses originally designed for DSLRs.”
The A7rII is certainly the best “A-mount lens friendly” camera yet. I can’t wait to see a focusing performance comparison between the A99 and the A7rII. If the A7rII is really as good as Sony marketing says well….I will let you guess what this could mean for the A-mount system future…

Sony A7r Mk II Autofocus Demo (video on top) by The Phoblographer:
The original Sony A7 has terribly slow autofocus performance–slower than molasses. But from what we’re seeing so far, the Sony A7r Mk II is incredibly fast. In fact, it’s faster than the Sony A7 Mk II and about as fast as the Leica Q.
Dpreview had a short hands-on and writes:
Ergonomically, the a7R II is to the original a7R what the a7 II is to the a7. The grip is much deeper and more defined, the control dial layout is different and the body is a little chunkier. If you’ve used an a7 II, the new a7R II will feel immediately familiar. Near-identical in fact. Interestingly, in a highly unscientific test, it did seem to us that the a7R II’s control dials move a little more freely than the somewhat stiff dials on the a7 II.
